What is a phpMyDirectory template?

A phpMyDirectory template (theme) is a ready-to-use design for your phpMyDirectory powered website. While phpMyDirectory handles all the content on your web-site, the phpMyDirectory template is the design itself, which is what your visitors view when they come to your web-site.

What are the advantages of purchasing a phpMyDirectory template?

The major advantage is price: You get a high quality design for as low as $50 USD. You don't have to hire a web designer or web design studio. Second advantage is time frame: It usually takes 2-3 weeks for a good designer to produce a web page of such quality.

How does the payment process work? When will I get my templates?

After your select a template or a subscription, you are taken to the checkout screen where you fill in your name and desired user name and password. You will then be directed to our merchant page at PayPal where you complete your payment. After your payment has been completed, you can log in via our front page and download your templates under My Account.

I still haven't received any e-mail and can't log in. How long will it take?

Usually the e-mail is sent the moment your payment is approved. However in very rare cases, PayPal might delay instant payment notification by few minutes to few hours. If you have paid by PayPal and can't login, contact us with your purchase # and the username you signed up with.

 

If you choose to pay with an "eCheck", please note that the delivery is not instant. This process takes 3-8 business days to clear payment. Once the payment is cleared, an email is automatically sent to your Paypal-connected email address with download instructions. If you do not receive an email after this time period, contact us through this website.

I can't find my templates after going to My Account. Where are they?

Once you login to your account, you will see Downloads section on your dashboard. You can download your purchased template(s) from there.

 

If you still don't see your templates at login, it might mean that your payment is "pending". You can then contact us with your username and purchase # and we will manually approve the payment for you.

I'm already a member. How do I buy another template?

If you are already a member, you can either go to Add/Renew Access on your user dashboard (My Account) and purchase another template/subscription from there, or if you are logged in you can buy one directly from the template listing page.

Of course, you can test our template of our demo website. You can also register and create listings.

Can I get refunds if I do not require this template anymore?

Since PMDStyles is offering non-tangible irrevocable goods we do not issue refunds after the order is placed, which you are responsible for understanding upon purchasing any template at our site. Please make sure that you've carefully read all relevant documentation and tried out the demos.

How do I get a quote for custom template/development?

You can always get a custom development quote using the Quote form. You will need to fill in all the required information about your project and hit submit button. That's it

Is there a contract with template subscriptions?

No, with our template subscription there is no contract. There is no set period of time you must be a member before canceling. While we'll be sad to see you go, you may cancel your subscription at anytime. Just remember you won't have access to templates, template updates, but will still receive support.

How can I cancel my template subscription?

You are in absolute control. You can cancel your subscription from your own PayPal account or from PMDStyles member dashboard. If you want our help with this, you can also contact us prior to the expiry of your subscription if you wish to not renew it. We will cancel it for you.

Do I still get support after my subscription has ended?

Yes, when you cancel your subscription you will continue to have access to the support forum & other support resources. You will not however have access to template updates and downloads.

Can I still download the templates after my subscription has ended?

No, once your account expires you lose access to the template downloads area as only active club members get access to bug fixes and template upgrades.

Does my individual template purchase include a PSD file?

The developer package does include a PSD, but not the standard package. Please review our pricing table.

What advantage is there in buying the developer template package with the PSD file?

The PSD files (The original design in photoshop format) come in handy when you are wanting to make quite a few structural and design changes to a template, it is usually the option selected by design agencies and freelancers who need to mock up an initial site design (jpg, gif, png or psd format) to present to clients. They then don't need to get their hands dirty in php/html/css code before they actually have to and have the exact design brief in hand.

Do all the templates work with the latest version of phpMyDirectory?

Yes, it is our duty to always keep the templates up-to-date and working with the latest version of phpMyDirectory. Our templates are developed and fine-tuned for phpMyDirectory Pro v1.0 or higher, any version prior to that may have problems with some template functionality.

Which browsers, browser versions and operating systems do you test the templates on?

We test all our templates on all major browsers. Internet Explorer, the latest versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera. Regarding operating systems, our templates are independent of the operating system you use and will work as long as phpMyDirectory is installed correctly.

How often are the templates updated?

We update our templates any time we discover a bug or there is a new feature that we feel should be added. View our changelog in your account page to check the latest version.

How do I update the template if I have an older version?

If you haven't made any modifications to your template files, then you can overwrite your old version. If you have made modifications to your template, you will need to study the changes to see which files need updating. You can also compare your old modified file against the updated file with any good HTML Editor or use an online tool.

Will the templates work with my plugins?

Yes, most plugins should work with our templates, HOWEVER we can't guarantee they will do so. There are some plugins that make use of Javascript libraries that may conflict with the libraries used in the templates, which will make our templates not function properly. There are many plugins available and we can't test every one with our templates unfortunately.

Can I use your templates to develop websites for my customers?

Yes. It is perfect for designers who want to offer their customers a high-quality design and also save time and money. In order to use a template on a client website, please ensure you choose the right url option for use on client website during checkout. Mind that when you purchase the template with ordinary or exclusive license you're entitled to create only one project.

What parts of the template can I modify?

Having paid for a template, you are authorized to make any necessary changes or modifications required to achieve your desired intention. All copyright notices in the footer or other modules may be removed or edited as required by yourself.

Can I use the templates on multiple sites?

No, you can not use our templates on multiple domains. Although unlimited subdomains are allowed. But if you want to use our template on other domain then you will need to purchase another license.

Can I share my template/mods with others?

In simple words - NO. We have strict rules for these types of illegal distribution processes. You can always send your friends & colleagues to get their individual licenses from us. Would you let them use your No Limit credit-card? We think no.

Yes, the logo is a image that is used as an example. You can easily upload your own image logo in template, or set a text title instead of using an image.

Is it possible that PMDStyles will contact my client which website I made?

Yes, our abuse department checks licenses regularly. In case we won't find designer's contact information on the site which was made from the template of ours we will contact the owner of the site directly.

How do I get support for my template.

We only provides template related support via our support forum, knowledgebase & tutorials. We will not provide any support via Twitter, Facebook or phpMyDirectory Forum. We may request you to e-mail us your login details when needed, in which case we will communicate via e-mail to protect your confidential & secure details. For membership account problems, please contact us.

I found a bug. How do I contact you.

It is our commitment to fix all bugs in templates as quickly as possible after they are brought to our attention. During our general support hours, we can fix bugs within 24 - 48 hours. We will also try provide a solution via the forum for smaller bug fixes, after which we will update the core theme package.

What is the extent of your support?

We only cover support for our templates, and can't give general phpMyDirectory support that isn't related to our templates. For general phpMyDirectory support you will have to use www.phpmydirectory.com/support

We understand that there is a fine line between what is considered support & modifications. So whilst we will try help you with any type of query (support or modification), we can't provide extensive help in terms of modifications. Technical support will thus take priority over modification support.
